   Item was exactly what I expected – in fact exceeded my expectations based on some of the comments on here. Yes it arrives in shrink wrap and folded. Yes there is a strong smell but it’s a nice leathery smell and it soon lessens. The quality is very good. Stitching appears robust. No issues at all. I have no problem recommending it. By the way I rarely write reviews and only wrote this because there are some negative ones on here so I can only speak if my own Experience which is 1st class.

   This is based on being used twice – a 7 day and a 4 day trip, both within England by car. 24 inch size.The bag has a slightly ‘distressed’ look to its finish which I like. Sort of ‘worn in’. The zips work smoothly. The end pockets are a useful size, about big enough for 4 or 5 paperback books in each, or a pair of shoes stood on end. I haven’t unpacked the shoulder strap and I doubt that I will use it as I have never used the shoulder strap on other weekend bags. The handles are quite generous in their length. I haven’t used the smaller flap pocket that is on 1 of the long sides – maybe it’ll be handy for something in the future.The leather is thick and ‘rigid’ enough for the bag to retain its shape when empty, but soft enough to feel nice. As time goes by it’ll probably soften up more. I only gave 4 stars for sturdiness and durability as 5 weeks is nowhere near enough to assess these. (I have had and still use a smaller leather weekend bag that I bought over 20 years ago. I hope this one will match that – but it is a much lower price than that other one was).As with (in my experience) almost every item made of leather the bag does smell a bit when first unpacked. It’s not an overly strong smell and it’s a personal view as to whether it’s unpleasant. I chose to leave the bag unzipped in a spare room for a few days to give it a chance to air off and now, having been used and about 5 weeks since purchase, there is no discernible smell when I open the cupboard where it’s stored.So far – I think it is very good value. It looks more expensive than it cost.

   Although I haven’t travelled with the bag,as yet I’m impressed.It appears to be sturdily made and robust and the stitching is neat and intact.There is little or no leather smell and I look forward to using it.Time will tell of course how good the bag really is.

   Okay bag leather feels a bit cheap and not as lush as other leather bags I have. It does what’s meant for. However the bag will need airing as it’s a distinctive smell. Also suggestion for packaging try and make it more presentable rather than all squashed in a plastic wrapper.
